As cute as it is, the Persian cat is a far more demanding breed when it comes to cat care. Undoubtedly Persian cats and kittens take the top spot when it comes to choosing a pet cat. But as a cat owner you need to be prepared to give it the care that it requires.

Persian cats kittens coat care

Persian cat kittens are truly adorable. They possess a character that is equally as adorable as their cute looks. One of the most admired qualities of Persian cats is their long coat of hair. And this is the most demanding aspect when it comes to caring for the Persian cat.

Persian cat owners need to take special care in order to maintain the coat of the Persian cat’s hair. One of the things that you have to ensure if you are looking to keep Persian cat kittens in your home is that they should always be kept indoors. This is because they will quickly damage their coat if they are allowed to step outside.

You will also need to comb your cats on a daily basis. Failure to do this will cause knots and hairballs in the hair and then the only alternative will be to give your Persian a hair cut. A metal comb is used to brush the long haired coat of the Persian cat.

You also need to ensure that you give your Persian kitten regular baths in order to keep its coat clean and prevent it from matting. It is important to get your Persian used to bathing right from the start so that it doesn’t have a problem with bathing as it grows older. This way you will be able to keep the coat healthy and beautiful. An important thing for Persian cat owner’s to remember is that unlike other cats Persians cannot maintain their own coats. Hence you have to do all the hard work for them by giving them daily grooming sessions.

Other health concerns

Persian cats do not only require you to take care of their coats rather you need to consider other health implications as well. If left to wander outside the Persian can easily get affected by diseased and parasites. Periodic visits to the vet are also recommended in the case of Persian cats.

Another thing to watch out for when it comes to Persian kitten care is related to their eyes. Persian cats have relatively large eyes that tend to get gooey. Hence you have to clean their eyes regularly and have them checked by a vet once in a while.

The Persian kitten is not a very active cat. From its early days to its last the Persian well spend most of its time sitting peacefully in its favorite spot rather than running around and climbing on things. This is one of the reasons why you need to make sure you feed it a balanced diet. An imbalanced diet will not only cause the Persian cat to become overweight which leads to many health problems rather it will also deteriorate the condition of its fur coat.
