It is however advised to go with cat breeders that specifically deal with Persian cats. Breeders that deal with Persian cats only have a better understanding of the requirements of the Persian and treat it according to its specific characteristics whereas cat breeders might generalize the treatment of the Persian. The fact that such breeders are focusing on one breed only makes them more reliable. Furthermore Persian cat breeders will be able to offer you a wider spectrum of choice when it comes to the colors of the Persian cat.

There are some breeders that specialize in the breeding of a particular variation of the Persian cat. Himalayan cat breeders for example specialize in developing the color point Persian which is more commonly known as the Persian based on the Siamese pattern. This is one of the most popular variations of the Persian cat.

Himalayan Breeders

Interested individuals should however contact professional Himalayan breeders because through them you will be able to get an authentic deal. This particular version of the breed is characterized by it’s longer than normal hair with a slight variance between the British and American style Persian.

Pekefaced Persian Cats

Furthermore you need to get a health guarantee for your Persian that gives details of her most recent veterinarian trips and certifications stating the cat is free from the most commonly found faults in the Persian.

You should also ask the breeder to show you around the main area where the cats are kept to get an idea of the living conditions of the animal. In order to gauge the experience of Persian cat breeders you should ask them how long they have been in the business and whether they participate in shows with their cats.
