Persian cats are known worldwide for their fluffy coats that have over the years evolved into different shades that can leave a person bedazzled.

Classifying Persian Cats
In the present time the various combinations of colors that the Persian cats’ coats have evolved into are categorized in order to be recognized with a little more ease. Hence to achieve this ease these ‘families’ that the Persian cat has been assigned to, are basically governed by the color of their coats. For instance the Golden Shadowed, Silver Shadowed, Cameo Shaded, and then there are the Red Persian cats.
The majority of the Persian cats are white with generally layers of different colors on just the tips of the coat which is technically known as ticking. But since there is a lot of mixed breeding the coats of the cats can evolve into totally different colors like blue-cream.
Similarly another color that has developed for the Persian cat is red which is now recognized to be the color that occurs in ordinary cats unlike albino whites which are considered very rare. It is not a bright screaming red, rather an almost orange or rather ginger color, which can vary. This means that the cat could either be all red or could have traces and hints of either white or brown ticking. Mostly however, red Persian cats tend to be completely red.
Red Persian Characteristics
The lips and chin of the cat are the same color as that of the coat. Its paw pads and nose leather is a brick red color and unlike Silver Shaded and Chinchilla Persian cats whose eye color is either green or blue-green, the Red Persians eye color is of a brilliant copper color. But it does, like the other Persian cats, have the blackened rimmed eyes that give off an impression as though the cat is wearing eye makeup.
Red Patches
The red color can also occur in patches along with other colors and usually these colors are cream, white and cameo. For instance the Smoke Tortoiseshell Persian cat has an undercoat that is of a white color and is deeply tipped with black and rather prominently defined, and rampant patches of red and cream ticking that form on its coat, similar to the pattern of a tortoiseshell.
Unique Eye Color
Along with the fascinating patterns that occurs in this breed of Persian cat, there is sometimes present the blaze of red color or cream tipping on the face which is liked by many people. The Tortoiseshell Persian cat is the only one along with the Red Persian cat family who are pedigree with copper colored eyes. Whereas the other families of the Persian breed, like for instance the Silver Shaded, Golden Shaded or Chinchilla have originally green or blue-green eye color.
The Red Persian cat tends to be fluffier as well, and has a large mane, but the same stubby legs and stocky physic along with the punched face and darkened rimmed eyes. Its chin and lips tend to be of the same color as its coat.
